Welcome!Welcome to the Buy It Naked campaign site. Please register here or using the link on the right hand side.
This campaign is all about visibility and awareness, if we make enough noise hopefully supermarkets and manufacturers will listen and perhaps enact some of our objectives:
* Reduce or eliminate unnecessary and excessive packaging on products.
* Reduce or eliminate plastic carrier bag use, by charging for bags or offering other incentives to those who use their own bags.
* Eliminate plastic bag use in home delivery and replace with recyclable cardboard boxes.
* Use only recyclable materials where other packaging is required.

14/01 : Christmas Waste
The Daily Mail wrote an article before Christmas and I think it\'s worth noting, as they say a picture paints a thousand words so I\'ll add them here:
I think this really highlights just how much excess packaging we have forced upon us, it\'s about time that manufacturers and supermarkets took more notice and that consumers take a harder line.

03/12 : ETP Magazine Interview
ETP magazine have published their interview today.
Here's a quick blurb describing their publication:
ETPmagazine.com is a reaction against negative perceptions, particularly those surrounding women and ethical lifestyles. ETP stands for just that - Empowerment through Positivity. We are fairly tired of the same types of magazines that are produced for women, and want something stimulating, conscientious, and fundamentally fulfilling.
They are a fairly new site and definitely have some engaging articles. Go check them out.
Thanks to Kirsty Jansen and Hattie Fell.

27/11 : DEFRA Releases recycling league table.
Kudos to North Keveston topping the tables with a 55.5% recycled rate, up from 51.5% in 2005/06. Good times. For comparison my own local authority Camden has a total of 28.05%. It seems the composting is really letting us down at 5.67%. This surprises me as Camden has always seemed to be very environmentally friendly, just goes to show we can always be doing a bit more. Or maybe just that appearances can be deceiving.
Check out your council and let us know who's doing well and who's got the wooden spoon.
